Dental Implants

Dental implants are changing lives. Providing the foundation for your smile, they look, feel, and function like natural teeth. When experiencing tooth loss, your daily habits – eating, smiling, and even looking in the mirror – can be affected with low self-esteem. With dental implants replacing one or more of your missing teeth, your smile is completed in both health and aesthetic aspects. You can smile with confidence again and eat what you want without the worry of further dental damage

Dental implants, what are they, what do they consist of? A dental implant comprises two components - the post and the crown - that replace missing teeth and return your smile to your daily life. Looking, feeling, and functioning like natural teeth, you can look forward to eating anything you want and smiling with courage. The health of your jaw bone will be protected as well, preserving the natural facial contours.

Dental implants help patients speak, eat, and laugh again with comfort and confidence. Gum Disease

Gum disease is an umbrella term that encapsulates both gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is the beginning stage of gum disease, when bacteria gathers on the surface of your teeth and becomes plaque. Without a daily oral heath regimen of brushing and flossing, this plaque can increase at a more aggressive rate. Gingivitis occurs once this bacteria begins to infect the gums. One symptom of gingivitis is the infrequent sight of bleeding after brushing or flossing. Gingivitis is reversible at this early stage with proper dental hygiene.

Once this infection increases deeper in the gums, it spreads to the jaw bones and becomes periodontitis, or periodontal disease. This disease affects the bones that support your smile; the teeth become affected and start to decay. This decay is caused by calcifying bacteria, where plaque becomes tartar. If left untreated, this may result in tooth loss. While periodontitis is not reversible, it can be managed with regular care and professional cleanings.

Concerned about your gum health? Gum disease negatively impacts your dental and systemic heath. Dr. Gandhi helps reverse the damage of gum disease through the use of multiple treatments.
