Implant-Supported Dentures
Secure, stable dentures that stay in place. No slipping, no adhesives -- just the confidence to eat, speak, and smile without worry.

A Better Way to Wear Dentures
Implant-supported dentures combine the full-arch coverage of traditional dentures with the unmatched stability of dental implants. Instead of relying on suction, adhesives, and gravity, your denture is firmly anchored to two or more implants placed in your jawbone. The result is a secure, comfortable prosthesis that allows you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence you never thought possible with dentures.
- Snap-on or fixed attachment options
- Dramatically improved stability vs. traditional dentures
- Preserves jawbone and facial structure
- Removable for cleaning or permanently fixed
Benefits of Implant-Supported Dentures
No More Slipping
Implant-supported dentures lock securely onto dental implants, eliminating the embarrassing slipping and shifting of traditional dentures.
No Adhesives Needed
Say goodbye to messy denture adhesives. The implant attachments provide all the retention and stability you need.
Improved Chewing
Regain up to 70-90% of your natural chewing ability, allowing you to enjoy a wider variety of foods including meats, fruits, and vegetables.
Better Speech
Eliminate the mumbling and lisping caused by loose dentures. Stable dentures allow you to speak clearly and confidently.
Preserves Bone
Dental implants stimulate the jawbone, slowing or preventing the bone loss that accelerates with traditional dentures.
Increased Confidence
Laugh, eat, and socialize without worrying about your dentures moving or falling out. Live life fully with total confidence in your smile.
Types of Implant-Supported Dentures
We offer two primary retention systems for implant-supported dentures. Your specialist will recommend the best option based on your jawbone, budget, and lifestyle preferences.
Bar-Retained Dentures
A thin metal bar follows the curve of your jaw and is attached to 2 to 5 implants placed in the jawbone. The denture fits over the bar and is secured by clips or attachments built into the denture base.
Advantages
- Superior stability and support
- Even distribution of chewing forces
- Ideal for patients with adequate bone
- Excellent for lower jaw restorations
- Reduced stress on individual implants
Best for: Patients seeking maximum stability who have sufficient bone density for multiple implants.
Ball-Retained (Locator) Dentures
Each implant has a ball-shaped attachment (or locator abutment) that snaps into a socket in the denture. This creates a secure "snap-on" connection that holds the denture firmly in place while allowing easy removal for cleaning.
Advantages
- Simpler design and lower cost
- Easy to snap on and remove for cleaning
- Requires fewer implants (as few as 2)
- Good option with moderate bone density
- Attachment parts are easy to replace
Best for: Patients who want a removable option with improved stability at a more affordable cost.
The Implant-Supported Denture Process
Evaluation & Planning
Comprehensive exam with 3D imaging to evaluate your jawbone and determine the ideal number and placement of implants to support your denture.
Implant Placement
Typically 2 to 4 implants are placed per arch under local anesthesia with sedation available. The number depends on the type of denture and your bone density.
Healing Period
Over 3 to 6 months, the implants integrate with your jawbone. During this time, you wear a temporary or adjusted existing denture to maintain your appearance.
Denture Attachment
Once healed, your custom implant-supported denture is fabricated and securely attached to the implants using your chosen retention system (bar or ball).
